Overview


Ricinus communis , the castor oil plant, is a flowering plant from the Euphorbiaceae family. The castor seeds are widely used as source for castor oil. The draft genome sequence (4.6 fold coverage) is relatively small (approximately 350 Mb) with 31237 annotated gene models.
