- ceh-49 encodes a divergent ONECUT class CUT homeobox protein with a single N-terminal cut domain; CEH-49 has an atypical tyrosine residue at position 48 of its homeodomain rather than a phenylalanine or tryptophan residue; the cut domain may be a compact DNA-binding domain composed of alpha helices; phylogenetically, CEH-49 is (somewhat distantly) affiliated with CEH-48, Drosophila ONECUT, and mammalian HNF6 proteins; CEH-49 has no obvious function in mass RNAi assays.
