Oryza sativa ssp. indica
Overview
Oryza sativa indica is a subspecies of the Oryza sativa (commonly known
as rice) species. Rice is a major food staple of the world's population, and after
the sequencing of the monot model species Oryza sativa japonica, BGI sequenced
the indica variety. Both subspecies are of course highly similar in genomic
content.
