Abstract
Ge-1, also known as EDC4 (enhancer of mRNA-decapping protein 4), is a regulator of mRNA decapping to function in the mRNA P-bodies within the cytoplasm. It has been shown to interact with mTORC1 [ 1 ], coenzyme A synthase [ 2 ] and MARF1 [ 3 ]. It is also involved in the regulation of immune system [ 4 ].
This entry also includes EDC4 homologues from fungi and plants [ 5 ].
