Abstract

This entry represents a group of small heat shock proteins, including RTM2 and related proteins from Arabidopsis. Unlike most other plant small heat shock proteins, RTM2 is not induced by high temperature and does not contribute to thermotolerance of seedlings. RTM2 is required for the restriction of long-distance movement of the pathogenic tobacco etch virus (TEV) [ 1 ].

This entry also includes uncharacterised small heat shock proteins from bacteria and fungi.
