General Information

  • Identifier IPR044278
  • Description Transcription factor BHLH95-like

Abstract

This entry represents a group of plant transcription factors, including AtbHLH95 (also known as ZHOUPI) from Arabidopsis [ 1 , 2 ]. It is an endosperm-specific transcription factor necessary for endosperm degradation, embryo growth, embryo-endosperm separation, and normal embryo cuticle formation [ 3 ].

1. The endosperm-specific ZHOUPI gene of Arabidopsis thaliana regulates endosperm breakdown and embryonic epidermal development. Development 135, 3501-9
2. RETARDED GROWTH OF EMBRYO1, a new basic helix-loop-helix protein, expresses in endosperm to control embryo growth. Plant Physiol 147, 1924-35
3. ZHOUPI and KERBEROS Mediate Embryo/Endosperm Separation by Promoting the Formation of an Extracuticular Sheath at the Embryo Surface. Plant Cell 29, 1642-1656
