- tax-6 encodes an ortholog of calcineurin A that is required for inhibition and adaptation of several sensory neurons and for the normal regulation of egg-laying by serotonin; TAX-6 stimulates transcription of rcn-1, and binds RCN-1 protein if free Ca[2+] is present; in general, calcineurin positively regulates calcium-dependent signaling.
