- noah-1 encodes a PAN and ZP domain-containing protein that is related to the Drosophila extracellular matrix component NompA (no-mechanoreceptor-potential A); loss of noah-1 function via RNAi indicates that NOAH-1 activity is essential for molting; in addition, NOAH-1 appears to be required for embryonic and larval development, vulval development, coordinated locomotion, and normal body morphology.
