Abstract

This entry includes BCAS3 from animals and AT18F/G/H from Arabidopsis. BCAS3 is a microtubule associated cell migration factor that has been linked to the development of breast cancer and angiogenesis [ 1 ]. It forms a complex with PHAF1 and associates with the preautophagosomal structure during both non-selective and selective autophagy [ 2 ].

AT18F/G/H are linked to autophagy [ 3 ].

1. Estrogen induces expression of BCAS3, a novel estrogen receptor-alpha coactivator, through proline-, glutamic acid-, and leucine-rich protein-1 (PELP1). Mol. Endocrinol. 21, 1847-60
2. Mammalian BCAS3 and C16orf70 associate with the phagophore assembly site in response to selective and non-selective autophagy. Autophagy 42, 1-26
3. AtATG18a is required for the formation of autophagosomes during nutrient stress and senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana. Plant J , 535-46
