Abstract
This domain can be found in terminal uridylyltransferases and poly(A) RNA polymerases. Uridylyltransferase that mediates the terminal uridylation of mRNAs with short (less than 25 nucleotides) poly(A) tails, hence facilitating global mRNA decay [ 1 , 2 ]. GLD2 is a cytoplasmic poly(A) RNA polymerase that adds successive AMP monomers to the 3'-end of specific RNAs, forming a poly(A) tail [ 3 ].
