Abstract

This entry represents a group of PITH domain-containing proteins, including PITHD1 from animals. PITHD1 acts as an activator of an internal ribosome entry site (IRES) element in the RUNX1 gene and enhances RUNX1 expression that subsequently promoted megakaryocyte differentiation [ 1 ].
