This family includes the style cell-cycle inhibitor 1 (SCI-1) from Arabidopsis thaliana and related proteins from other plants and fungi. SCI-1 is a component of the auxin signalling transduction pathway that regulates cell proliferation and differentiation during flowers stigmas and styles development [ 1 ]. It is involved in the regulation of auxin-related genes [ 2 , 2 ].
