Abstract
The NMR solution structure of the protein in SDS micelles was found to contain two helices, an N-terminal amphipathic alpha-helix and a C-terminal alpha-helix separated by a large unstructured internal domain. The N-terminal alpha-helix is the Tom20 receptor binding site whereas the C-terminal alpha-helix is located upstream of the mitochondrial processing peptidase cleavage site [ 1 ].
This superfamily includes the F1 beta subunit of ATP synthase.F-type ATPases have 2 components, CF1 - the catalytic core - and CF0 - the membrane proton channel. CF1 has five subunits: alpha3, beta3, gamma1, delta1, epsilon1. CF0 has three main subunits: a, b and c.
