Abstract

Acetyl-coA carboxylase (ACC) is a central metabolic enzyme that catalyzes the committed step in fatty acid biosynthesis: biotin-dependent conversion of acetyl-coA to malonyl-coA [ 1 ]. In bacteria this protein contains a small zinc finger domain.
