Abstract
This entry represents a group of plant BAG domain containing proteins, including BAG5/6/7/8 from Arabidopsis. The plant BAG domain containing proteins are multifunctional proteins that regulate cytoprotective processes from pathogen attack to abiotic stress and development. AtBAG6 appears to play a role within basal defense pathways, while AtBAG7 is involved in the maintenance of the unfolded protein response in ER [ 1 ].
1. AtBAG7, an Arabidopsis Bcl-2-associated athanogene, resides in the endoplasmic reticulum and is involved in the unfolded protein response. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 107, 6088-93
