Abstract

This entry represents a group of plant proteins, including protein HEAT INTOLERANT 4 (HIT4) from Arabidopsis. HIT4 is a chromocentre-localized protein involved in heat-triggered reorganization of chromatin and release of transcriptional gene silencing [ 1 , 2 ].

1. Arabidopsis HIT4 encodes a novel chromocentre-localized protein involved in the heat reactivation of transcriptionally silent loci and is essential for heat tolerance in plants. J. Exp. Bot. 64, 1689-701
2. Arabidopsis HIT4, a regulator involved in heat-triggered reorganization of chromatin and release of transcriptional gene silencing, relocates from chromocenters to the nucleolus in response to heat stress. New Phytol. 205, 544-54
