Abstract
This entry represents ATAD3 and its homologues, including ATAD3A/B/C from humans. They play an important role in mitochondrial network organization [ 1 ]. ATAD3 contains two N-terminal coiled-coil domains, a central trans-membrane segment and a conserved C-terminal ATPase domain of the AAA+-type with an ATP-binding (Walker A motif) and a catalytic ATPase domain (Walker B motif) [ 2 ].
ATAD-3 is necessary for Caenorhabditis elegans larval development and is essential for the progression of the first steps of post-implantation development in mice [ 3 , 3 ].
