Abstract

This entry includes acetyltransferases such as N-acetyltransferase 9 (NAT9). The NAT9 gene is an important reproduction related gene and is associated with psoriatic arthritis [ 1 ] and possibly with Crohn's disease [ 2 ]. NAT9 contains a GNAT domain.

FsC-acetyl coenzyme A-N(2)-transacetylase (sidG) from the yeast Neosartorya fumigata is a component of the siderophore biosynthetic pathway, catalyzing N2-acetylation of fusarinine C (FsC) to form triacetylfusarinine C (TAFC) [ 3 , 4 ]. Acetyltransferase PA3944 from Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been shown to catalyze the transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl coenzyme A to an acceptor substrate. PA3944 also has activity on aspartame and the peptide antibiotics polymyxin B and colistin [ 5 ].
