Abstract

CHERP is an integral endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane protein involved in calcium homeostasis [ 1 ]. It is also a Ca(2+)-dependent ALG-2-interactive target in the nucleus that participates in regulation of alternative splicing of inositol trisphosphate receptor type 1 (IP3R1) pre-mRNA [ 2 ].

1. Antisense-mediated loss of calcium homoeostasis endoplasmic reticulum protein (CHERP; ERPROT213-21) impairs Ca2+ mobilization, nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT) activation and cell proliferation in Jurkat T-lymphocytes. Biochem. J. 373, 133-43
2. Nuclear ALG-2 protein interacts with Ca2+ homeostasis endoplasmic reticulum protein (CHERP) Ca2+-dependently and participates in regulation of alternative splicing of inositol trisphosphate receptor type 1 (IP3R1) pre-mRNA. J. Biol. Chem. 288, 33361-75
