CarD is a Myxococcus xanthus protein required for the activation of light- and starvation-inducible genes [ 1 ]. This entry represents a domain superfamily found in the N terminus of CarD. It is also found in transcription-repair-coupling factor (TRCF) proteins.

The structure of CarD presents a partly open barrel topology. The last strand is interrupted by a turn of 3-10 helix.
