Abstract

This entry includes nitrile-specifier protein 1/2/3 from Arabidopsis. Nitrile-specifier protein convert allylglucosinolate and benzylglucosinolate to their corresponding simple nitriles in the presence of myrosinase. They contain lectin-like jacalin domains, which share a common ancestry with the jacalin domains of the putative Arabidopsis myrosinase-binding proteins MBP1 and MBP2 [ 1 ].
