InterPro domain: IPR033257

General Information

  • Identifier IPR033257
  • Description N-acetyltransferase Eco1/Protein CHROMOSOME TRANSMISSION FIDELITY 7

Abstract

This entry also includes the Eco1 homologue, Protein CHROMOSOME TRANSMISSION FIDELITY 7 (CTF7) from plants. CTF7 is essential for the establishment of sister chromatid cohesion during S phase of the cell cycle [ 1 ].

Budding yeast Eco1 is required for establishment of sister chromatid cohesion during S phase but not for its further maintenance during G2 or M phases or for loading the cohesin complex onto DNA [ 2 ]. It exhibits acetyltransferase activity [ 3 ].
