General Information

  • Identifier IPR033244
  • Description Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 32

Abstract

MED32 is a component of the Mediator complex in plants. The Mediator complex is a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes [ 1 ]. MED32 is required for recruitment of the Mediator complex and RNA polymerase II to CBF-controlled cold-responsive genes [ 2 ]. Med32 mutants are affected in root development and leaf senescence, phenotypes possibly associated to redox changes [ 3 ].

1. Redox regulation of the MED28 and MED32 mediator subunits is important for development and senescence. Protoplasma 26, 465-84
2. The Arabidopsis mediator complex subunits MED16, MED14, and MED2 regulate mediator and RNA polymerase II recruitment to CBF-responsive cold-regulated genes. Plant Cell
