Abstract

The Jas domain is a short region of sequence characterised by IxCxCx(12)HAG found in plant transcriptional repressors. This motif appears to bind to the Groucho/Tup1-type co-repressor TOPLESS (TPL) and TPL-related proteins (TPRs) [ 1 ]. This binding is a crucial step in the jasmonate signalling pathway, involved in plant disease and defence [ 2 ].
