Abstract
This entry represents the double-stranded RNA-binding protein (DRB) protein family from plants. Arabidopsis encodes five DRBs, DRB1-5. DRB1 and DRB2 are involved in microRNA (miRNA) biogenesis, while DRB4 functions in cytoplasmic posttranscriptional small interfering RNA (siRNA) pathways [ 1 ]. DRB3 and DRB5 are not involved in the dsRNA processing stages of the miRNA biogenesis pathway, but are required to mediate RNA silencing of target genes of DRB2-associated miRNAs [ 2 ].
