Abstract
Galactinol synthase (also known as Inositol-3-alpha-galactosyltransferase) is involved in the biosynthesis of raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFOs) that function as osmoprotectants in plants [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. In Arabidopsis thaliana, seven GOLS (Galactinol synthase) genes and three putative GOLS genes have been identified, and different induction patterns have been reported [ 4 ].
