Abstract
Sulfate, the major form of inorganic sulfur utilised by plants, is absorbed and transported by specific sulfate transporters into plastids, especially chloroplasts, where it is reduced and assimilated into cysteine before entering other metabolic processes. Sulfate transporter 3;3 (Sultr3;3, At1g23090) is one of sulfur transporters that exist in chloroplasts [ 1 ].
1. SULTR3;1 is a chloroplast-localized sulfate transporter in Arabidopsis thaliana. Plant J. 73, 607-16
