Abstract

Drosophila NCKX30C is a sodium/potassium/calcium exchanger that transports one Ca2+ and one K+ in exchange for four Na+. It functions in the removal of calcium in excitable cells, maintains calcium homeostasis in adults, and modulates calcium in signalling events during embryogenesis and patterning of imaginal disks [ 1 , 2 ].
