Abstract

Chitin-inducible gibberellin-responsive protein 2 (CIGR2) belongs to the GRAS family of plant specific transcription factors. GRAS proteins play crucial roles in plant growth and development [ 1 ]. CIGR2 may act as a transcriptional regulator in the early events of the elicitor-induced defense response in rice [ 2 ]. CIGR2 is not only induced by elicitor N-acetylchitooligosaccharide but also by phytoactive gibberellins, which suggests dual roles in defense and development [ 3 ].
