Abstract

Scarecrow-like protein 18 (SCL18) from Arabidopsis, also known as protein lateral suppressor (LAS) is a key promoting factor of shoot branching and tillering in higher plants [ 1 ]. SCL18 regulates axillary meristem formation in Arabidopsis [ 2 ]. It belongs to the GRAS family of plant specific transcription factors [ 3 ].
