Abstract
Trichome birefringence-like (TBL) proteins are proposed to encode wall poly-saccharide specific O-acetyltransferases based on the existing data for some members of the TBL family: altered xyloglucan 4 (AXY4/TBL270) and altered xyloglucan 4-like (AXY4L/TBL22), two xyloglucan specific O-acetyltransferases in non-seed tissues and seeds, respectively [ 1 , 2 ].
This entry includes TBL32 (AT3G11030) and TBL46 (At3g61020) from Arabidopsis. TBL32 plays a role in xylan acetylation and normal deposition of secondary cell walls [ 3 ]. TBL46 may be a pseudogene.
