Abstract
Trichome birefringence-like (TBL) proteins are proposed to encode wall poly-saccharide specific O-acetyltransferases based on the existing data for some members of the TBL family: altered xyloglucan 4 (AXY4/TBL270) and altered xyloglucan 4-like (AXY4L/TBL22), two xyloglucan specific O-acetyltransferases in non-seed tissues and seeds, respectively [ 1 , 2 ].
TBL17 is also known as protein YLS7 (yellow-leaf-specific gene 7) as it is up-regulated in leaves during natural senescence [ 3 ].
