Abstract
This superfamily represents an ~150-amino acid ADF-H (actin-depolymerising factor homology) domain found in three phylogenetically distinct classes of eukaryotic actin-binding proteins [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. This domain shares structural similarity with another set of actin binding proteins, villin and gelsolin, and the C-terminal of the Sec23/Sec24 proteins. It consists of a mixed beta-sheet structure.
