Abstract

This entry represents a domain found in PAN2. The poly(A)-specific nuclease (PAN) is a deadenylating enzyme involved in cytoplasmic mRNA turnover. Both yeast and mammalian PAN have been shown to contain two subunits, PAN2 and PAN3; PAN2 is the catalytic subunit [ 1 ].

1. The yeast Pan2 protein is required for poly(A)-binding protein-stimulated poly(A)-nuclease activity. J. Biol. Chem. 271, 432-8
