Abstract

Trihelix DNA-binding factors (or GT factors) bind to GT elements found in the promoters of many plant genes. Trihelix transcription factor GT-3a binds specifically to the core DNA sequence 5'-GTTAC-3'. GT-3a and closely related GT-3b can form either homo- or heterodimers, and they are predominantly expressed in floral buds and roots [ 1 ].
