Abstract
This entry represents RuvB-like proteins, including RuvB-like 1 and 2 (Rvb1 and Rvb2).
Rvb1 is similar to Rvb2. They possesses ATP-dependent DNA helicase (5' to 3') activity [ 1 ]. They are components of the INO80 complex, which is involved in transcriptional regulation, DNA replication and probably DNA repair [ 2 ]. They are involved in multiple processes such as chromatin remodeling and pre-rRNA processing [ 3 ]. In mammals, they are components of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex which is involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A [ 4 ].
