Abstract
HAP5 is a subunit of the HAP complex that recognises and binds the CCAAT motif in promoters [ 1 ], which stimulates the transcription of various genes [ 2 ]. In mammals and plants, HAP complex includes three subunits: NF-YA (CBF-B or HAP2), NF-YB (CBF-A or HAP3), and NF-YC (CBF-C or HAP5) [ 3 ]. In budding yeast, HAP complex is composed of four subunits: HAP2, HAP3, HAP4, and HAP5 [ 4 ].
