Abstract
This entry includes negative cofactor 2 complex subunit alpha (also known as Bur6) and DNA polymerase epsilon subunit C (also known as Dpb3).
Bur6 is a component of the NC2 complex which represses RNA polymerase II transcription through binding to SPT15/TBP and thereby inhibiting the assembly of the preinitiation complex. The NC2 complex may also mediate transcriptional activation from TATA-driven promoters through association with SPT15/TBP [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ].
Dpb3 is part of the DNA polymerase epsilon that participates in chromosomal DNA replication. It is essential for cell cycle progression [ 5 ].
