Abstract

NSP1 functions as a component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). The 55-60 MDa NPC is composed of at least 31 different subunits. NPC components, collectively referred to as nucleoporins (NUPs), can play the role of both NPC structural components and of docking or interaction partners for transiently associated nuclear transport factors [ 1 ].

NUP62 is a component of the p62 complex, composed of NUP62, NUP54, and the isoform p58 and isoform p45 of NUPL1 [ 2 ]. The p62 complex is an assembly of glycoproteins localised near the central gated channel of the nuclear pore complex.
