Abstract

This domain is found in ELYS (embryonic large molecule derived from yolk sac), which is conserved from fungi such Aspergillus nidulans and Schizosaccharomyces pombe to humans [ 1 ]. ELYS is important for the assembly of the nuclear pore complex [ 2 ]. The domain is also found in other proteins, such as E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase HOS1.

2. The three fungal transmembrane nuclear pore complex proteins of Aspergillus nidulans are dispensable in the presence of an intact An-Nup84-120 complex. Mol. Biol. Cell 20, 616-30
