General Information

  • Identifier IPR021198
  • Description Pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate oxidase, plant

Abstract

This entry represents plant-specific pyridoxine/pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate oxidase 1 (PPOX1 or PDX3) [ 1 ]. It is involved in the salvage pathway of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (vitamin B6) [ 2 ].

It may also also catalyse the epimerization of the S- and R-forms of NAD(P)HX, a damaged form of NAD(P)H that is a result of enzymatic or heat-dependent hydration [ 3 ].
