General Information

  • Identifier IPR020779
  • Description dNTP triphosphohydrolase, type 1

Abstract

This entry represents a subgroup of dNTP triphosphohydrolases mostly from gamma-proteobacteria. Proteins in this entry include dGTPase from E. coli and PA1124 ( Q9I4L1 ) from Pseudomonas aeruginosa. They are triphosphohydrolases that have a preference for dGTP [ 1 ].

Interestingly, E. coli dGTPase (Dgt) has been shown to have a strong single-stranded DNA-binding (ssDNA) activity [ 2 ].
