Abstract

This entry is found in Ada3 and homologous proteins which function as part of histone acetyltransferase complexes [ 1 ]. Ada3 is an essential component of the Ada transcriptional coactivator (alteration/deficiency in activation) complex. It plays a key role in linking histone acetyltransferase-containing complexes to p53 (tumour suppressor protein) thereby regulating p53 acetylation, stability and transcriptional activation following DNA damage [ 2 ].
