InterPro domain: IPR019008

This domain is found in different proteins, including uncharacterised protein family UPF0480 and nodal modulators. A nodal modulator has been identified as part of a protein complex that participates in the nodal signaling pathway during vertebrate development [ 1 ]. This domain is also found in ER membrane protein complex subunit 7 (EMC7), which is a component of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein complex and may be involved in degradation of misfolded proteins by the ubiquitin- and proteasome-dependent process known as ER-associated degradation (ERAD)[ 2 ].
