Abstract
This entry includes the sugar transporter SWEET10. It belongs to the sugar transporter SWEET (also known as MtN3/saliva) family, whose members are polytopic membrane proteins that feature an MtN3/saliva domain, also known as a PQ loop repeat [ 1 ]. SWEET proteins are involved in multiple physiological processes, such as nodule development, senescence, abiotic stress responses, and host-pathogen interaction, in different species [ 2 ]. Some SWEET proteins act as sugar transporters, hence the name SWEET [ 2 ].
