Abstract
N-carbamoylputrescine amidase catalyses ( 3.5.1.53 ) the hydrolysis of N-carbamoylputrescine to putrescine [ 1 , 2 ]. This is the final step of the arginine decarboxylase pathway of putrescine biosynthseis that operates in some plant and bacterial species. This protein is designated AguB in bacteria.
