Abstract

This entry represents eukaryotic glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase ( 1.1.1.8 ). The reaction catalysed by this enzyme is:

sn-glycerol 3-phosphate + NAD(+) = glycerone phosphate + NADH

Note that similar, though distinct, reactions ( 1.1.1.94 and 1.1.99.5 ), occur in the bacterial proteins.
