Abstract
This entry represents cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor subunit 5, also known as the cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor 25kDa subunit. These proteins are a component of the cleavage factor Im (CFIm) complex involved in pre-mRNA 3' end processing [ 1 ]. CFIm may also play a role in regulation of poly(A) site selection [ 2 ].
1. Human pre-mRNA cleavage factor Im is related to spliceosomal SR proteins and can be reconstituted in vitro from recombinant subunits. Mol. Cell 1, 243-53
2. Evidence that cleavage factor Im is a heterotetrameric protein complex controlling alternative polyadenylation. Genes Cells 15, 1003-13
