Cytosolic purine 5'-nucleotidases, also known as cytosolic 5'-nucleotidase II (cN-II), is an IMP/GMP preferring 5'-nucleotidase that can function as a phosphatase and a phosphotransferase, and these activities might contribute to the maintenance of the qualitative and quantitative balance of intracellular purine compounds [ 1 ].
