Abstract
This superfamily represents a structural domain consisting of 3-layers, alpha/beta/alpha. This domain is found in both the alpha and beta chains of succinate--CoA ligase (also known as succinyl-CoA synthase; 6.2.1.4 (GDP-forming) and 6.2.1.5 (ADP-forming)) [ 1 , 2 ]. This domain can also be found in ATP citrate synthase ( 2.3.3.8 ), malate-CoA ligase ( 6.2.1.9 ) and acetate-CoA ligase (or acetyl-CoA synthase) ( 6.2.1.1 ), as well as bacterial Fdr. Some members of the domain utilise ATP others use GTP.
